
Use your time wisely next week. There is a strenuous timeline for grading. Please make
sure you are in compliance in meeting all timelines.
Deficiency letters should be sent to the homes of failing students, in addition to Progress
Reports. Parents should be notified if students are not progressing satisfactorily. These
should be sent out on a regular basis. Make sure students sign for the notices and a
record is maintained by the teacher. Senior teachers must turn in a copy of their
deficiency notices to their Department Heads-effective December 10th. (PAST DUE)
2nd Quarter and 1st Semester Grades are due on January 18th at noon. Grades must be
entered into PTG. All grades below 50 must be overridden in PTG.
Grade Corrections are due on January 23, 2013.

or make suggestions. There was neither a praise or polish in the box today. Please
continue to share your thoughts. 

Reminders






ATTENDANCE- It is imperative teachers take accurate and timely attendance.
Recorded attendance is legal documentation. We have had two key incidents this week
and because of teachers did not take accurate attendance. There could be severe
repercussions. Taking accurate and timely attendance is a part of professional
responsibilities. The discrepancies that have been noted are unacceptable. The CST
members have been attempting to drop student services for our no-shows but it has been
to no avail because students have been marked present who are no-shows. In addition, a
lawyer came from information and identified inaccuracies in attendance. Staff members
who are not in compliance with submitting attendance will receive a Letter of Concern or
a Letter of Reprimand.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT- All staff members must attend his/her assigned
professional development. Heritage will be closed for those two days. If you are having
trouble signing up on the Employee-Self Service portal please see your Department
Chair. Also each staff member should report where he/she will be attending to a
supervisor or Department Chair.
DISMISSAL- Students should not be dismissed until the ringing of the 3:05 bell. Please
do not use your own clock or computer to dismiss students, wait until you hear the bell
and then dismiss your class. Students in the halls will be asked who let them out early.
There is a quick turnaround for grading. Make sure you use your time wisely during the
examination week. If you have students who attend your class but for some reason a
student is not showing up on your PTG or SMS but attends your class, please send Ms.
Myrick an e-mail with the student’s name, the class, and the student’s grade.
SECOND SEMESTER SCHEDULES- Students will receive his/her second semester
schedule during the 5th period exam. Teachers distribute the schedule to students during
this time. This is a change from the early correspondence.
Teachers please encourage students to visit our website. A way to encourage students to
check the website is by posting assignments, activities, and resources on the website.
