Site Safety for the month of July 2012
The Road Safety measures on the project does not show much improvement with respect to
necessary signage Concessionaire was informed to take up safety measures as per provisions of IRC:
SP:55. Concessionaire was further advised to create working zones and regulate the Traffic in these zones
properly to avoid any happenings. The project area where Embankment construction is in progress
should be suitably barricaded with concrete/New Jersey Barriers or either with Wooden Barriers or
Metal Sheet. Concessionaire has been repeatedly told to discontinue use of sand filled bags. The Project
corridor should be suitably reflected by use of reflective tapes in the night time and Diversion Board
should be installed at all diversions to guide the motor able traffic at Diversion Location.
As structural locations electric switches were not found suitably covered which very cause
accidents labor engaged at site were found using PP Equipment like helmets, Shoes & Safety Jackets etc.
Shifting of Electric has commenced at site. Concessionaire has carried out crossing of cables at
various locations. Concessionaire has also erected approx 45 no. of Poles in the private land where land
never has allowed them to do so.
