Columbia University- Relevé Program
Relevé serves high school students from underprivileged backgrounds who express both an interest in
the performing arts and a desire to pursue higher education. Relevé will run from Friday, March 28th to
Sunday, March 30th. Conducted by Columbia University students, the weekend will include performing
arts workshops, including salsa, hip-hop, jazz dance, vocal music, acting, guitar, painting, and drawing.
Another focus is to guide participants through the college admissions process. Columbia and Barnard
admissions officers will hold workshops in college admissions and financial aid. Students then have the
opportunity to showcase their talents on the last day of the program. The deadline to apply was March

Harlem Youth Court
The Harlem Youth Court trains teenagers to serve as jurors, judges and advocates, handling real-life
cases involving their peers. The goal of the Harlem Youth Court is to use positive peer pressure to ensure
that young people who have committed minor offenses restore harm done to the community and receive
the help they need to avoid further involvement in the justice system. The Harlem Youth Court hears a
range of low-level crimes referred by the New York Police Department, the New York City Department of
Probation, local schools, and the New York City Law Department. The majority of cases that come to the
Harlem Youth Court are for shoplifting, truancy, and fighting. We accept applications on a rolling basis

Wave Hill Internship
Spend an unforgettable summer working as part of a small crew protecting and improving Wave Hill’s
woodlands, enjoying the outdoors and making friends. Take a free, college-level course in environmental
science or basic mapping at CUNY’s Lehman College and earn credit. For seven weeks beginning in late
June, Forest Project interns work together in small crews under the direction of an experienced crew
leader. Together, each crew engages in restoration work in its assigned area. The work is demanding but
rewarding—building woodland paths, removing invasive plant species, shoring up erosion controls and
helping to restore disturbed woodlands to a more balanced state. Team-building activities build a strong,
even passionate, sense of community and connection both to fellow interns and to the collective mission.

This two-week, $300 stipend supported program provides a unique opportunity for young women from the
NY metropolitan area. Qualified students will engage in an educational program covering the fundamental

School Cyber Forensics Challenge hosted annually by the NYU School of Engineering.Participants will

Each year, students just like you travel to Richmond, Indiana, to participate in Earlham's Explore-Aopportunity prepares you for college both academically and socially. Many students return several

Manhattan College Summer 2014 Program

Regis College Summer Scholars is a pre-college program offered July 14 – 25, 2014. Students attending
