essentially the dictator of
Germany.

handicapped and the
mentally ill.

September 1, 1939 Germany invades Poland.
World War II begins.
September 3, 1939 France
and Great Britain declare
war on Germany.
• Find Denmark and Norway,
label them, and then color
them red.
April 9 to June 9 1940, Germany
invades and takes control of
Denmark and Norway.
• Germany uses quick
strikes called
blitzkrieg, meaning
lightning war, to
take over much of
western Europe
including the
Netherlands,
Belgium, and
northern France.
May 10 to June 22 1940: Germany
takes over Europe
• Find Italy and
Japan. Label
them and color
them blue.
September 22 1940- Germany,
Italy, and Japan sign creating
the Axis Alliance
• Germany attacks Russia with 4
million troops (that’s 6
Seattles)!
• Find Russia, label it and color
it red.
June 22 1941 - Germany and the Axis
Powers attack.
• The Attack on Pearl
Harbor happened on
December 7th, 1941.
Japanese airplanes
made a surprise attack
on the US Navy in
Pearl Harbor. They
destroyed many ships
and killed many
soldiers. It was this
attack that forced the
United States to enter
World War II.
