Grading Scale: 100 – 90% A 89 – 80% B 79 – 70% C 69 – 60% D Homework/Activities/Assignments/Projects: Students will learn the Spanish language through a variety of activities, assignments, and projects. Work should always be NEAT AND COMPLETE to ensure full credit. Quizzes/Tests: Quizzes and tests in this class will observe students ability to read, write, listen, and speak Spanish vocabulary, grammar, and culture. There will be a test for each chapter and frequent quizzes. A pretest will be given at the beginning of the year and a post test at the end of the year determining the growth that students have made throughout the course of this class. Students who miss a test and/or quiz must schedule a time to come in and make it up. Participation: Each student will start with 20 participation points per week. If a student is not participating, points will be deducted from the original 20. Participation points will be entered weekly out of 20. The maximum is 20 points. Once points are taken away, they cannot be added back. Participation is key. Stay on task, attentive, and focused and students should have no problem earning their full 20 points per week. This is a class that requires participation from everyone. I expect students to be on task during the entire hour. There will be many times that we will play “games” as a class to guide learning and it’s important that all students are participating. Group work will often be implemented, which also requires full participation from all students. Late work: Students are allotted necessary time to complete assignments. As a high school student, organization and timeliness is imperative. Students who turn in late work will receive a 50% deduction on their assignment. Don’t forget…I’m here for YOU! I’m here before and after school, as well as at lunch. It’s in my best interest that you succeed and do well in this class.
