Senator Narsinghani - Cupcakes with the Senators in Brockman Hall last week went very well. Attendance
increased, and we got some interesting new ideas to say the least. Thanks to all SGA members that were
involved. The selection of the next event date and location is postponed due to the fact that it would
naturally fall during the week of Senate elections. Hopefully I am re-elected to carry on the event, but in the
case that I am not, I do not want to schedule a date that I may not be able to carry out. I will definitely
compile the ideas that were brought up and share them with you all soon.
Senator Walsh - Nothing submitted for the minutes.
Senator Williams – Nothing submitted for the minutes.

Report of the President, Kevin Contrera
After a number of individual meetings this week, the budget committee came together last night and we will
be proposing FY11-12 Budget next meeting. If you have any initial questions, do not hesitate to let any one
of us know.
Just a reminder, the informational meetings for the upcoming Senate election are this week today,
Wednesday, and Thursday. You will need to attend these if you would like to run. Please continue to recruit
students for these positions
MOSAIC met on Sunday. We have solidified the dates of the Multicultural celebration week for April 4- 8th.
We will be bringing together all the clubs to host 6 or 7 events.
I met with Ryan Martin, President of the Husman Community Council to discuss replacing the broken TV in
this building. Although I expressed my support for the project and our willingness to advocate for it, I did say
that the effort should be put forth by Residence Life as they will be the one’s maintaining it for future years.
If anyone would like to work on this project, please let me know.
Responsibility.

Report of the Legislative Vice President, Cristin Giacci – nothing
XIII.
Report of the Administrative Vice President, Blair Kmetz (read by Kevin) – Sorry I can't be here today,
I am still in Louisville for an eye appointment.
I'll be spending most of my time next month working on food options and awards for the Banquet! That
being said I want to remind you all of the awards that you will be voting on the Monday after Spring Break.
They are:
Funniest Senator
James W. Miller Best Dressed
Rookie of the Year
Most Improved Senator
James Hoff, S.J. Jesuit Ideals Senator
Most Likely to Change the World
Best Project
Committee of the Year
I also had a great time at NACA last week. We learned a lot and booked 2 great artists for next fall, we will
be proposing another at SAC. It was a great experience and makes me sad I am leaving SGA soon.
In other updates, I am using my English major skills to help Kevin write the budget rationale. And, Tala Ali,
our lecture series chair chose to contribute $2,000 to the "Behind the Swoosh" lecture with the Society for
Economic Justice.
XIV.
Report of the Senate Coordinator, Neil Heckman
The Monday after we get back from spring break, the report of the administration will be Joe Frecker and possibly also
Bob Sheeran, and these are the people who are essentially overseeing all of the construction on campus.
The GPA committee met last week and we're making progress on the issue. I will bring you all up to speed on that at a
more appropriate time.
You all should have your evaluations by now. Remember they are due the Wednesday after we get back from spring
break, so March 16. Please make a note on there when you turn it in if you are trying to meet with me prior to the
election, and I will compile your results more quickly than the others.
Rollover committee will be meeting tomorrow at 6:00 pm.
The actual HLC visit is April 4-6 and while we don't know the exact schedule of their visit yet, know that it will either
be incorporated into our meeting like it was today, or I'll be offering you credit for office hours for attending that
meeting.
Just a quick etiquette thing, and I know we've been talking a lot about this, so please just remember to not be up and
leaving during the meeting too much, and it should only be for emergencies, or for bathroom necessities.
Senate Advisor, Dustin Lewis - For your SAC Attack this week, SGA hosted The Next Three Days last
weekend with a pretty low turnout on attendance. Thanks to DeAngelo for volunteering to help work on
Saturday night.
The Ski Trip went well and had 101 students attend and ski – no injuries this year! Oscars Night was held
last night at Kennedy Auditorium and had around 40 people in attendance.
Just a reminder, For Colored Girls will be screened tonight at 7pm and stop by GSC First Floor on Thursday
from 5-8pm to get airbrushed custom t-shirts and caricatures for those of you heading out for Spring Break.
This is a great idea for AB trips!
The CFJ will be hosting their grand opening on 3/21 from 4:30-6pm. Please mark your calendars and
prepare to attend.
Congratulations to Senator Rodgers on being selected for the Kentucky Governor’s Scholars Program as an
RA this summer… an honor that Blair and I happily share with Sam as former GSP RA’s ourselves.
As Joanie wraps up her position with SGA this week, I will have more information for you when you return
later in March. Please just be patient and know that I am doing everything I can to help keep us moving
forward as an Association. Please stop by from 3-5pm on Friday to wish Joanie well as she heads out into
her next great adventure.
Have a safe spring break.
XV.
Support Staff, Joanie Weidner – The scanner in the club office is working. I am working with Dustin on
