Present Progressive
The “ing” verbs
Present Progressive

Is used to say what is happening right
now.
– Rosa is singing.
– We are eating.
To form the present progressive, you must
combine a form of “estar” with the
endings –ando (-ar) /-iendo (-er/-ir).
 “estar” + root(-ando/-iendo)

– Rosa está cantando.
– Nosotros estamos comiendo.



Tomar en nota:

If the stem of an “-er” or “-ir” verb ends in
a vowel (leer):
– Form the present participle by changing the “I”
in “iendo” to a “Y”

The verbs IR and VENIR are not usually
used in the present progressive.
