Fred Pryor High Impact Giving Request for Proposals Fred Pryor pioneered the one-day seminars presented nationally in 1970, and led his small business, Fred Pryor Seminars, to become the pre-eminent leader, subsequently adding career track seminars. Today, Fred is interested in finding an entrepreneurial project through which he can make a significant impact as a result of his charitable giving. Fred is interested in funding projects that: will make a significant, measurable, and lasting impact on our community are entrepreneurial in nature have a significant in-kind component can mobilize a segment of the population to give of time, talent, and financial resources in the future have the potential to generate some income to pay for some of the program costs and/or leverage in-kind support for the project. He is particularly interested in: Human Services Arts & Culture Higher Education Animal-related causes Cultural Preservation Community Outreach Schools Counseling Centers Aging Services Health Services Experientially based learning He seeks organizational leadership that is entrepreneurial and has both the willingness and the capacity to bring the project from idea to reality. To that end, he is offering a $50,000 award to the organization that presents a proposal that most closely matches the criteria listed above. In addition to the $50,000 cash award, Fred will consider personally funding and assisting with raising the funds to make the project a reality. Proposals will be reviewed by a group of present and former non-profit leaders (the vetting group) who will submit their thoughts and recommendations to Fred for a final decision. Preference will be given to new programs and he is most interested in programs that would not start without this gift. Process: 1. Letters of intent should be submitted by September 15th to pryorgrants@gmail.com. 2. Organizations will be notified of whether or not they are being asked to submit a full proposal by October 15th. 3. Full Proposals will be due by November 15th. 4. Organizations may be contacted by a member of the vetting group with additional questions. 5. The vetting group will submit recommendations to Fred for final review, and up to 3 finalists will be selected for further vetting. 6. A decision will be made by January 1st 7. The award winning agency will meet with Fred and members of the vetting group to talk about the process of implementing the project, funding needs and timelines, and how Fred can help to launch the project. Fred Pryor High Impact Giving Letter of Intent Organization Name: Applicants should submit a letter of Intent that should not exceed 3 pages in length. Please provide brief responses to the following items: 1. Name and address of your organization 2. Briefly discuss the need to be addressed by your project 3. Explain the project that your proposed grant will fund. Include a description of project activities. 4. Briefly explain how your project will make a significant and lasting impact on our community. Be precise, and please provide measurable outcomes as well as numbers to be served. 5. Briefly explain how your project is entrepreneurial in nature. Does the project have the potential to generate some income to pay for some of the program costs and/or leverage in-kind support for the project? 6. The amount of funding you will require in the first year to start the project, and how the grant funding will be used. 7. Have you identified other potential donors? Please include a copy of your 501(C)3 and your organization’s annual budget.
