COURSE NAME: Spanish 8

COURSE PREREQUISITES: Spanish 7, Pre-Spanish 7

GRADE LEVEL(S): 8th Grade
IV.
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The course provides students with the fundamental background required to speak, to
read, to write and to understand Spanish. A great deal of stress is placed on the
development of audio-lingual skills including correct pronunciation, intonation,
accentuation, and the use of appropriate native gestures. The rudiments of grammar are
taught as they are needed for oral and written expression. There will be a continued
emphasis on the development of listening and speaking skills. Additional material for
development of the reading skills is provided for each student. The course also presents
units on culture that are expanded to include geography and customs of the Spanishspeaking cultures.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
Upon completion of the course, the students should be able to:
