MEEKNESS
YIELDING MY PERSONAL
RIGHTS AND EXPECTATIONS
WITH A DESIRE TO SERVE
A calm temper of mind, not easily
provoked
MEEKNESS VS. ANGER
What provokes you?
Someone telling you that you are wrong?
Not getting praise for what you have done?
Someone ignoring you?
Someone yelling at you?
A driver cutting In front of you?
Someone lying to you?
Emotions
Harness your emotions and learn
to look past the situation.
 Most emotions come from
getting our feelings hurt and
feeling rejected or like a failure.
 Most circumstances of anger are
caused because of someone
getting defensive.

Outcome of the meek


Ps 37:11 But the meek shall inherit the
earth; and shall delight themselves in the
abundance of peace.
Mt 5:5 Blessed are the meek: for they
shall inherit the earth.
Scripture calls meekness something that is
worth a great price with God.
1Pe 3:4 But let it be the hidden man of the
heart, in that which is not corruptible, even
the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit,
which is in the sight of God of great price.
In order to stop the anger, you must be
able to balance your emotions.
We must learn to respond properly to the
emotions and not be controlled by them.
When we are controlled by our emotions,
this leaves us vulnerable and dangerous to
ourselves, family, and society.
This is not a sign that you are sick in the
head, it’s simply a lack of good character.
What is the solution?
Three R’S
Recognize reality: Stop, Look, and Listen to
what is going on around you and ask
yourself: “How much of this is me?”
React with wisdom: What is going to be the
best way to handle this situation in which
the results will be pleasing to everyone.
Respect the people that are around you.

Staying Meek

Mt 7:3 And why beholdest thou the mote
that is in thy brother's eye, but
considerest not the beam that is in thine
own eye?
Mt 7:4 Or how wilt thou say to thy
brother, Let me pull out the mote out of
thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine
own eye?
Mt 7:5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the
beam out of thine own eye; and then
shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote
out of thy brother's eye.
Meekness requires one to take
responsibility for their actions.
Meekness requires one to yield their rights
so others can see that power is not in who
is in control, but who serves.
Meekness demands respect vs. getting
angry because you don’t have respect.
Meekness requires one to control the mind,
body, and spirit to serve that which is right
