Human Papilomma Virus (HPV)





Any sexual activity involving genitals

Can get it without having intercourse



Caused by the herpes simplex
viruses type 1 (HSV-1) and


Gonococcal bacteria

Spreads through penis, vagina,
mouth or anus (skin or mucous
membranes) during oral, vaginal
or anal sex

Can be spread from mother to
baby at delivery

 In
women:
most have no symptoms
painful or burning urination
increased vaginal discharge;
yellow colored
vaginal bleeding between periods

after the presentation. You may ask:

Where can someone get tested for an STD?
 How did you find out you had an STD?
 After you found out, did you seek treatment
and/or counseling for your STD?
Purpose: Students gain insight on living with an STD
Goal: They get tested and use STD prevention methods
