COURSE DESCRIPTION This course will introduce the role, terminology and importance of financial markets. It will include topics such as “too big to fail”, subprime mortgages and its role in creating the financial crisis. Discussions will include topics on investment banking and contemporary thoughts that are shaping the evolution in banking and finance. The main objective is to provide an understanding of the globalizing forces that are revolutionizing the key elements of the financial world. Decision makers and engaged citizens must be sensitive to the international aspects of international finance. In this course, we highlight the dimension of global finance and show the opportunities and risks to which international businesses and societies are exposed. 4 DATES Starting day: 12th January 2016 Finishing day; 7th July 2016 Total length: 150 hours Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 19:00 to 22:00 FEES 1.700 € Single units are also available upon demand.
