Programming is underway for the J Building at Montoya,
Smith Brasher Hall and the older section of the South
Valley Campus.
The CNM Governing Board and President Katharine
Winograd invite all CNM employees to a reception Nov.
11 to thank you for your commitment to the success of
CNM students throughout the year. The reception will be
from 3-5 p.m. in the Richard Barr Boardroom in the
Student Resource Center on Main Campus.
The myCNM platform is in the process of being upgraded
to a newer version that will provide better integration
with Banner, CNM Learn (formerly called Blackboard)
and student email, as well as better browser compatibility
and other upgraded features. There will also be a
redesign of the look and feel of the new myCNM, which
will lead to some reorganization of information and the
location of links. More information about the changes
within myCNM will be available as the launch date gets
closer. Launch is scheduled for Feb. 22. Faculty
members who use the “Course Studio” function that
is accessed from the myCourses section of myCNM
will need to move any content in Course Studio that
they will need for the Spring Term to CNM Learn
(Blackboard).
An animated story teller, a singer and a magician are
among the acts scheduled for the CNM’s Got Talent
competition scheduled for Nov. 20 from 6-8 p.m. in
Smith Brasher Hall, Room 100. The event is an
entertaining fundraiser for the CNM Leading the Way
campaign. Read more

Please join AA in welcoming CNM’s new Transfer
Articulation Analyst, Rob Vasquez. Rob joins us from
the University of New Mexico; STEM UP CNM/UNM
Cooperative. In this capacity, he worked closely with
Academic Affairs, Enrollment Services, and Student
Services at CNM and UNM.
In the Spring of 2015, CNM will be continuing a pilot
Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program for select
classes. Classes across CNM will be chosen for the pilot
study. The students in these classes will be expected to
have a mobile device for use in the classroom as part of
the class activities. The goal will be to increase student
engagement in the classroom, enhance the lecture/lab
experience, and provide a green alternative to traditional
paper assessments.
