1 A: The Outsiders: Going Beyond the Walls of Your Imagination
~ Taking a learning experience outside despite what the weather
channel says, “It’s rainy!” - what do you do? This is a super-fun
workshop for attendees of all ages wanting to learn about small
and large group games and activities that are completely outside. It
is proven that both adults and children are not outside as much as
they need to be. Come and learn about the endless fun things kids
can do in sun, rain and snow throughout the year. Typical sunny
day games and activities can easily be modified for outside but it
depends on your creativity and willingness to get yourself outside.
Participants will also learn a number of new activities and
experiential games for groups of all ages and sizes.

his experiences of traveling abroad, working as a Child and Youth
Worker and his leadership with outdoor recreation. Jeff believes
we need to challenge ourselves to discover our potential within in
order to continue to inspire the future.
1 B: Communication – The Lost Art Form
This interactive workshop of sound, movement and acting,
reviews the most important preventative tool, communication.
Participants will discuss the words we choose to use, how we say
those words, and the messages our bodies present. Technology
has removed some of the face to face interactions and weakened
our abilities to read social cues. We will look at how information
may be processed at different levels of escalation, including our
own interpretations. Many times, assumptions are made during
the communication process and this can lead to increased conflicts
and confusion. Effective communication is key to the
development of positive relationships and understanding at work,
home, and with yourself.

physical, emotional and behavioural challenges in residential
treatment, school, and community settings. Tyson has provided

promotes and encourages the development of skills and those
unique abilities that everyone possesses to contribute to their
communities' success and progress.

1 D: Leadership: Mastery from Within -The Foundation of
Leadership is Based on a Holistic Sense of Self-Awareness.
Although it is probably one of the least discussed leadership
competencies, self-awareness is possibly one of the most valuable.
Realizing one's position in one's life path at an instantaneous point
in time is the first step in the leadership journey. This will allow us
to fully utilize our strengths and identify areas of selfimprovement. Knowing ourselves helps us know each other. This
session focuses on the skills necessary to achieve this realization.

2 A: The Ninja Facilitator: Mastering the Art of Facilitating Groups
with Jeff Willis
An action-packed workshop of interactive learning and mastering
experiential techniques of facilitating.
People are subject to learn from different types of teachers,
environments and experiences. Their success depends on their
ability to adapt, engage and their willingness to learn from their
presenter/teacher/facilitator. Understanding the necessary and
effective tools of facilitating is imperative, especially in
understanding how people can and/or want to learn from you.
Attendees come to this workshop as a learner and leave with the
tools to be a better facilitator/teacher.
Ninja Learning Goals:
• Setting a positive climate for learning
• Collaborative communication techniques
• Clarifying the purposes of the learner(s)
• Organizing and making available learning resources
• Balancing intellectual and emotional components of learning
• Sharing feelings and thoughts with learners but not dominating
According to Carl Rogers, learning is facilitated when:
“The student participates completely in the learning process and
has control over its nature and direction; it is primarily based upon
direct confrontation with practical, social, personal or research
problems; and, self-evaluation is the principal method of assessing
progress or success.”

3 B Behavioural Strategies – The Practical Application with Tyson
Shymr
This hands on workshop will help participants think about
behavioural strategies from a variety of learning styles. The group
will discuss different scenarios, strategies to work through it, and
develop preventative programming tools. The use of visual
systems, effective communication and interactive techniques will
assist in moving participants from reactive to proactive when
thinking about behavioural interventions. There is no perfect
process, but keeping your toolbox full of options will provide
greater confidence.
4 B Collaboration Skills: Essential Listening with Tasha Moodley
Listening may be the most powerful tool in your leadership tool
kit. It applies to every relationship you have, and the achievement
of your goals is dependent on this. Listening is the key to unlocking
the whole-hearted collaboration and cooperation of those around.
When you listen fully and reflect what you have heard accurately
and respectfully, you enroll others in your goals and aspirations.
This session focuses on exploring the different levels of listening
and will help you to become more receptive to those around you.
This provides good information to base your actions as leader on.
