For more information, please visit the Amazing Grass website: www.amazinggrass.com The Position Title Location Reporting Relationships Trade and Sales Analyst This position will be based in Amazing Grass’ offices in Newport Beach, CA The Trade and Sales Analyst will report to the Vice President of Finance with a dotted line to the Vice President of Sales. The position will be a key contributor to improving efficiency of sales promotions both from a financial and executional perspective. The role will also be a primary resource to the Sales organization, responding to daily reporting, understanding market share data and a full understanding of ROI for promotional activities. Job Description The Trade and Sales Analyst role is being created to improve business planning through uncovering and analyzing business trends for both products and retailers. The position is also charged with ongoing improvement of business profitability through both long and short-term planning of trade expenditures, including pricing analysis and post analysis of merchandising programs. Finally, this position serves as a key interface for the VP of Sales for system-based report requests. Also, along with the Sales team, develops promotion calendars and implement proper trade spend tracking system. Consumer Products experience and understanding Market Share data is preferred. An inquisitive mind and self-starter skills are critical to success in the role. The candidate must be skilled in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Power Point. Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skill, along with a positive attitude a must. Trade Spending. The role will be responsible for creating proper reporting to analyze, track and drive actions to improve Trade ROI. A post analysis of performance-based discounts provided to retail partners. The role is also responsible for analysis of the relationship of pricing and product velocity. This position will work closely with Sales Managers to ensure Trade spend is controlled and properly funded by account and incentive best possible product mix. Promotions. Ideal candidate will manage and ensures all promotions are properly setup in the system. Recommends promotion system improvements and identify efficiencies on promotion set up. Commands Sales Reps to follow best practices and proper promotion calendar adherence. Product and Retail Trends. The analyst is responsible for monitoring, uncovering and independently analyzing revenue and velocity trends for Amazing Grass products and customers. Syndicated Data. This role will be responsible to analyze market trends, summarize reporting, and assign specific tasks to Sales Reps to optimize product mix. The analyst is able to manage complex data and assigned actions based on item distribution reports Ad Hoc Reporting. Amazing Grass operates on NetSuite, an ERP platform. The analyst will develop a thorough knowledge of reporting needs of the Sales Team and serve as their point person for timely completion of report requests. Develops reports based on market share data, customer portals, and prepares presentations to support the Sales Team. In charge of preparing month end Sales Forecast, working closely with VP of Sales, understanding upcoming promotions and marketing events. Distribution, Shelving, Merchandising, Pricing. The analyst will lead the corporation to optimize pricing, item distribution, and recommends optimal item discounts. The Person Qualifications & Experience The successful candidate for Trade and Sales Analyst should have relevant experience in the following areas: Consumer Products Experience. The company competes in fast moving consumer goods, with primary customers such as Whole Foods, Sprouts, Vitamin Shoppe, Costco and Amazon. Relevant industry experience required. ERP Experience. Ideal candidate will have experience working with ERP system and syndicated data. The candidate must have demonstrated capacity in ad hoc report creation and extracting requested information from a complex database. Analytical Skills. Solid understanding of the analysis and interpretation of data and the presentation of reports. Experience in analyzing business trends and independently uncovering those trends relevant to driving revenue and improving promotional spending efficiencies. Must be detail oriented and strong knowledge of excel is required Communication and Presentation Skills. Ability to summarize and present in depth analysis to the leadership team, sale brokers and retail partners. Additional Career Progression.
