personal growth as it is about
intellectual growth.
•Ask your student, “What do you want to get out of your experience at the
University of Maryland?”
•Ask yourself, “How can I support my student by helping guide them to
various resources at the University of Maryland while encouraging their
independence?”
•Ask your student, “Who do you want to be and what skills will you need to
work on to succeed at the University of Maryland?”
Success depends on the
student!
A successful student:
•Sets personal, educational and professional
goals
•Interacts with the faculty and staff
•Take advantage of the educational resources
on campus
•Involves him/herself in the cultural and extracurricular activities
