About the Certificate The certificate is exclusively for students of Sikkim Manipal University MBA program opting for International Business as their specialization. The learning content is designed to widen the knowledge base of young managers and to equip them with necessary skills to meet the challenges of globally competitive environment and is complementary to the content of the MBA program. It is designed to provide practical and job oriented knowledge to the students. The certificate is called “CERTIFICATE IN EXPORT IMPORT MANAGEMENT” and is a useful value addition to any resume. To fully equip young graduates, aspiring to make career in various departments of International trade management. To impart training to professionals in export and import management disciplines and to upgrade their understanding of export-import procedures, documentation and other practical aspects. 4. Learning resources All students of IB specialization will be provided 4 core books. These courses are: 1. Documentation and policy - I 2. Documentation and policy - II 3. Packaging 4. Shipping It is advised that the students go through the material in the order given above. Along with these books, they have an option to choose 1 specialization book based on their area of interest. Printed copies are not being supplied; however, students may download the content and print it if required. 5. Assessments: There will be one specific assignment at the end of 4th semester to assess the students for this certificate. It will be similar to the internal assignment used for the SMU MBA program with 6 questions of 10 marks each and will include some practical application aspects. The students will upload the assignment on Edunxt portal as per the timelines mentioned. Please note that: The student has to score a minimum of 40% marks to obtain the certificate. The certificate will have to be obtained within the student’s validity for the MBA program. Grades will be provided on the basis of assignment submitted. FAQS 1. What is the eligibility to take this course? A. The certificate is exclusively for students of MBA opting for International Business as their specialization. The students have to pay separate fees to enrol for this course. 2. Is it mandatory to enrol for this course? A. Yes, for all IB students. 3. How will I study for this course? Guidelines on IB certification A. The students will get the study material on the Edunxt portal from 3rd semester onwards. They have to go through the study material. The study material is related to international business and is more practical oriented. The newsletter should also be accessed from the http://www.iiem.com/ to enhance the current affairs knowledge of students related to International business. 4. How is the assessment conducted? A. There will be one assessment at the end of 4th semester. It would be just like internal assessments. The students have to submit the assignment and secure a minimum of 40% marks to pass.
