Cooperation within the Project
1.4
The intense and fruitful cooperation among the eCOMPASS partners has continued, and this
was even more evident during this reporting period. Every partner worked actively on the
activities of the WPs it participates. The partners continue to cooperate and interact
frequently through the established emailing lists, the project’s wiki, WP-specific conference
calls and physical meetings. The eCOMPASS project members have been working as a team
right from the beginning of the project, a fact that enabled the consortium to deliver
promptly all deliverables and to successfully achieve all milestones set so far.
Specific cooperation among partners is as follows.

PTV collaborated with CERTH and TomTom on providing and sharing information
regarding the EC-funded ICT project eCoMove (http://www.ecomove-project.eu/)
on driver behavior and user needs of commercial drivers.
PTV has cooperated with the EC-funded project COFRET (http://www.cofretproject.eu/) regarding new methodologies to calculate emissions.
PTV has cooperated with the EC-funded project CityLog (http://www.city-log.eu/).
PTV has cooperated with the EC-funded project eCoMove (http://www.ecomoveproject.eu/).
CERTH studied thoroughly the Common Agreed Interface that was developed in the
In-Time project.
TomTom cooperates with the EC-funded project ecoDriver (http://www.ecodriverproject.eu/) on the issues of active driver feedback.
ETHZ collaborates with the SNF-funded project “Context Sensitive Information:

services in smart cities.
CTI, CERTH, and KIT collaborate with project HoPE on developing pilots in Athens
(GR), Coventry (UK), and the Basque Country (SP) based on eCOMPASS results.
Deviations from Planned Deliverables and Milestones
There was a small deviation from the initial DoW (version date: 26.08.2011) with respect to
the finalization of Task 2.4 and its corresponding deliverables D2.3.1, D2.3.2, and milestone
MS9. In particular, although most of the work of Task 2.4 has been accomplished, there was a
delay in the finalization of the time-dependent software prototypes (the hardest part of the
eCOMPASS work) and consequently in the delivery of the corresponding deliverables
D2.3.1, D2.3.2, and milestone MS9 from M20 to M24.
Consequently, a re-planning of WP5 and WP6 was made and specific corrective actions were
made in collaboration and agreement with the Project Officer so that this delay will not affect
the overall progress of the project. In particular, WP5 has been extended (beyond M28) to
M33 in order to ensure the success of prototype implementation within the new scope and
plan and also to ensure the necessary support for the pilots that have now been re-planned to
M31-M33 (exactly as was their initial schedule in the project’s proposal). Although not all

activities of WP5 started on M21 as initially planned, considerable effort out of the WP5
budget during M20-M24 was invested in activities to de-risk applications development
despite the delay, and adapt the schedule and scope of WP5 to the new plan.
The aforementioned re-planning and corrective actions are included in the amended DoW
(version date: 25.10.2013).

3 Use of Human and other Resources
3.1
Use of Human Resources
Table 3.1 shows the person months planned and actually spent for this reporting period. The
numbers in the “Planned” rows typically reflect the average distribution of the resources
over the lifetime of a WP. The numbers in the “Actual” rows are the actually spent person
months over the 12-month reporting period. In certain cases, they may reflect phases of high
activity (like implementation periods) or low activity (like holiday seasons).
