Early Head Start’s Home Visitor will be able to work with children and families in their
home environment, building strong relationships that will make a lasting difference in
their lives. This unique program option enables you to work with families whose life
circumstances prevent them from being able to participate in a more structured setting.
As a home visitor you will be able to support parents as their child’s first teacher. You
will provide comprehensive services to families you visit including, screening and
ongoing assessment of child development; medical, dental, and mental health services;
child development and education. You will form partnerships with each of your families,
helping them to set goals and identify strategies to help them achieve their goals. You
will offer group socializations that will serve as an additional opportunity for you to
strengthen parent-child relationships, connect families to community resources and to
build on the experiences introduced in the home.
