Give the answers to 2-3 of the questions s/he answered. • Classmates will be on the quiz next week. Why is college important? What sets a college grad apart? • Tells prospective employers you have the ability to start a project and complete it. • Exposes you to basic knowledge in different areas of life so you don't have to relearn everything someone else has already learned. • Gives you a foundation on which to build in order to develop your potential to the fullest. Syllabus • Please get a highlighter and a writing utensil • I will indicate the things you need to highlight. Diagnostic Essay • You will now have 45 minutes to complete a short essay (minimum 3-5 paragraphs) • MLA format (10 points), completing assignment (40 points) • Follow instructions on the handout. Homework • Read Chapter 1 (if you have book) • Journal 1: – 1-2 pgs, MLA headings (typing preferred) – Any school-appropriate topic – Will not be graded on spelling/punctuation/grammar but please do your best
