My internship is about learning how to be a barber. Dennis is a great barber. In my
opinion, Dennis could teach me everything I need to know about being a barber.
Dennis showed me how to cut hair. First, Dennis
showed me how to turn on the clippers. Then, he showed me
how to start cutting hair by shaving a customer head until it’s
a close to a bald head, but he told me to leave some hair on
his head to make a haircut. Sometimes it depends on how the
customer wants his haircut. Dennis showed me how to do an
edge up. When I did the edge up on a customer I accidently cut him. Dennis told me to do it
nice and easy because some clippers are actually very sharp. My career goal is to be a barber
because I can make fast money every day just by cutting hair.
Dennis told me about different haircut styles. Being a barber I have to know all different
haircut styles. The different haircut styles are called
edge up, mohawk, fade, close and dark haircut. The
close haircut makes you look ball head and the dark
haircut makes you have an even cut with hair on your
Woodard 2
head. The cuts are all thirteen dollars except for the fade that’s six dollars. I made money that
day by giving somebody an edge up for six dollars. It wasn’t perfect, but it was good enough. I
also got a copy of all the different haircuts and prices. To be a barber, I will need to know the
prices like the back of my hand.
I learned that being a barber you have to pay rent for the chair you cut hair in. Dennis
told me if I am late for rent I get a warning for
the first time and fired for the second time. I
have to pay rent to continue working for
Dennis. The rent for Dennis shop is 175 every
two weeks but there are different prices at
different barber shops. Dennis told me the
longer I cut hair the more money I make to pay the rent. Being a barber is easy enough for me.
Dennis taught me everything I need to know to be a barber.
By doing this internship I learned being a barber is an easy job. I did this internship
because being a barber is the job I want after I graduate. The internship taught me a lot, I am
now ready to be a barber.
