The Mission
• Your objective is to create a drink that caters to the market
you choose. Your slogan, logo, color, name, and drink
type all must meet the type of market you are targeting.
You must create a label, print ad, and 30 second
commercial promoting your drink. Your message, music,
and layout all must work together with your target. You
will be required to use magazines, books, and the internet
to gather research and information on your target market.
Do not STEREOTYPE! You must write a one page paper
describing who your target is, and why you believe your
product, color, slogan, logo, drink type and ads meet the
emotional needs of your customer. You must choose one
of the following target markets. Good Luck!
Hip Hop
Culture
This group is comprised of young
African American/Caucasian males
who are into the Hip Hop culture,
basketball, and just ‘chillin.’ Ages
range from 14-23. Located in the cities
and the suburbs across the US. He is
loud, creative, and loves to dance.
High Class Barbie Girls
This group of young-adult
females, is aged 21-29.
She is into Pop Music,
make-up, and talking
endlessly on their cellphones. She is high
maintenance and enjoys
watching MTV. She is very
sophisticated, well
groomed, wealthy, and
proud.
Country Boy’s
Yee Haw! This group is made up
of middle aged, mid-western
males, ranging in age from 2540. He enjoys rugged, outdoor
activities, country music, square
dancing, and the rodeo. He is
quiet, rustic, and not afraid to get
dirty. He loves working with
tools.
The Jock
This athletic male is 17-25
years old, into sports, fitness,
and his car. He is very
confident and possesses good
leadership qualities.
Senior Citizens
Caucasian males or females, ages 60+, who are
very conservative and nostalgic. They enjoy
spending time with family and leisurely activities.
Alternative/Gothic Girl
This caucasian teenaged girl
(13-18) is into dark make-up,
dark clothing, piercings, and
tattoos. She enjoys heavy
metal and alternative music
and noir type movies. She is
quiet, rebellious, and
aggressive.
This guy is a working male, ages
30-40, who loves computers, video
games, and technology. He is
extremely intelligent, goofy, and
clumsy. He works crazy hours in
an office setting and makes good
money. He is single, lives alone,
and does not get involved in many
social conventions. He loves
science fiction and comic books.
The Intellect
This young male or female is aged
17-25. They are wealthy, upper
class, and are spoiled by mommy
and daddy. They love designer
clothing, classic rock, and are very
cultural. They love to travel, sail,
and play tennis. They live in large
houses mostly in the northeast,
Chicago and Dallas suburbs, and
Western California. The are cocky
and trendy.
The Prep
The Skater/Grunge Kid
This caucasian male is into extreme
sports and hard core music. He is
between the ages of 15-25. He is
fearless, rebellious, and willing to risk it
all. He lives on the West Coast or
outside any major city. He loves baggy
jeans, skate shoes, and tattoos.
Blue Collar
This down south, working male, ranges in
age from 32-45. He enjoys working with his
hands, is into country music and his dirt
bike. He loves to hunt, watch NASCAR,
and is a big college football fan. He is
moderately educated, humble, and
extremely hard working.
The Working Woman
This young, single woman is between the
ages of 23-35. She is very into her job,
extremely successful, and is always on the
go. She travels a bunch, lives in an
apartment in a city somewhere in the US.
She is independent, confident, and
aggressive. She loves 80’s rock, Desperate
Housewives, and fitness.
Latin Populace
• This group consists of Latin
Americans from various
regions of the world. A
vastly expanding population
of immigrants from multiple
Latin countries, this group is
very proud of their culture,
extremely family oriented,
and very religious. They
love bold colors, salsa
music, fancy cars, and
affordable things.
Kids
This is for the little guys! This
group is aged 10 and under
and consists of both boys and
girls of all backgrounds. They
love sweets, cartoons, games,
and free stuff (especially
toys). Anything that will keep
their attention. They are not
necessarily neat and don’t like
to be hassled.
Hippies
These are the new
aged hippies similar
to the ones of the
60’s. They are 18-28
years old, both male
and female. They
are free spirited,
friendly, sharing,
peaceful, and laid
back. They are into
organic foods and
natural things. They
love the outdoors
and being colorful.
Surfer Dudes
• This group of
males/females ages
16-25 love to hang five.
They enjoying being
out doors, preferably
the beach, sporting
bonfires and playing
their guitars. They
have long nappy hair,
love beaded jewelry
and will constantly
sport shorts and flip
flops. They are tan and
very conscious of there
body, but are not health
nuts.
Raver/ Underground Scene
This group consists of people who like to
wear brightly colored clothes and love to
dance and have fun. From the ages of
15-28. They wear big baggy flare pants
with bright colors on them, bright
colored arm warmers, bright leg
warmers, fuzzy boots, shirts with
cartoons on them, children backpacks
with stickers, and candy (brightly colored
bead bracelets). They go by the saying
PLUR (Peace, Love, Unity, Respect)
