7th Grade Spanish
• Meets everyday for the entire year.
• The focus of the class is
communication. The four modes of
communication are speaking, reading,
writing, and listening.
• The students learn through actions,
visuals, games and interactive
activities.
SPEAKING
• The students will speak in Spanish on a daily
basis to me and their peers.
• I encourage the students to use Spanish at
all times in my class. Mistakes are
ACCEPTABLE!
• Please encourage your student to use
his/her Spanish as much as possible outside
of school.
READING
• The students read “real-life” authentic
texts. For example, Spanish newspaper
articles, magazine advertisements, train
tickets, etc.
• There are links on my website to other
websites that are in Spanish. Your child can
read in Spanish at home too!
Writing
• The students will learn how to write
multiple paragraphs in Spanish.
• They will write on a regular basis.
• I will give the students feedback on
their writing and they will have to log
their progress.
Actividades
• Each marking period your student will be
required to complete three small projects
at home. They will have options on which
projects they would like to complete. They
will serve as their homework assignments.
• Also, your student will be required each
marking period to complete tasks in Spanish
outside of the classroom. They will have to
bring in documentation that they completed
the task. For example: Write an email in
Spanish or order a meal in Spanish.
