The Key Enrichment Centre is a new institution with the goal of imparting the skill sets necessary to be successful at top ranked schools and beyond. The enrichment program focuses on building collaborative learning, critical reasoning, and creativity through a holistic, integrated model. One of the product offerings at the Centre is the test prep program for the SAT and SSAT exams. Working with an already created curriculum, the Test Prep Instructor will guide students through test taking strategies, drill sets and practice exams. Job Description: This position reports to the Human Capital Director and facilitates the day-to-day instruction of our students. Using the latest teaching strategies and drawing on past experience working in the educational industry, the successful candidate will be responsible for teaching our SSAT and SAT curriculum, and assisting students in achieving their academic goals. The Instructor will also be responsible for assessing students on an ongoing basis in order to identify any gaps in learning that are occurring. Once these gaps have been identified, the instructor will work on strategies to address these needs. This position will also entail ongoing communication with families. The ideal candidate must be an effective communicator, have strong interpersonal skills, be passionate about education, and be responsive to our clients’ needs. A proactive team player capable of motivating and leading his or her students is essential. The candidate must work well in a fast paced environment with the ability to manage various tasks simultaneously. Key Accountability areas include but are not limited to: Working with the Human Capital Director, to ensure that the customer experience is being held to the highest standard of quality possible Ongoing review of the curriculum in order to continuously improve our product offering Accurately assessing students on a regular basis to ensure that all of the child’s learning needs are met Other duties as assigned. Qualifications/Experience: The Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-5 years of prior experience as an educator. Candidates with prior experience working in the independent school system are preferred. A Bachelor’s of Education Degree Previous experience instructing SAT and SSAT candidates Personal experience in writing the SAT and/or SSAT exam SAT minimum score requirements: Math - 700 Reading - 640 Writing - 640 TESL certification is an asset Should possess high energy, attention to detail, and the ability to organize effectively. Should enjoy working with young students. Must have patience, especially for ESL clientele. Must be an articulate communicator both verbally and in writing and have strong interpersonal/relationship management skills. Flexibility to work during all hours of the operation will be a requirement of the role.
