Scope The post holder is managed by the International Financial Accounting Manager and is responsible for supporting the International Division in financial accounting and reporting. The post also requires interaction with the wider Finance and Business Development division. Overall purpose of the role To support the International Financial Accounting Manager to provide an effective financial accounting and reporting service to the International Division including monthend accounting and reporting processes, year-end accounting processes, financial controls and supporting the BRC audit processes. International Financial Officer 1 Main responsibilities and duties 1. Financial Management and Systems > To produce International Division specific schedules and analysis for the year- end and interim external audits as required; > To process monthly journals for General fund to Restricted fund transfers, Voluntary Donation Income (VDI) admin fee, grant management admin fee, accruals and prepayments and costs with no project code corrections; > To carry out reimbursed delegate invoicing for IFRC and ICRC; > To manage the ad-hoc customer invoicing requirements of the International Division customer invoice transactions are correctly accounted for; > To review monthly balance sheet reconciliations for the International Division including invoice debtors, international safe and mission floats; 2. Financial Monitoring and Reporting > To produce the monthly International Division Team Finance Report > To produce the monthly International Discretionary Fund Report 3. Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting > To be the finance contact for supported teams through planning, budgeting and forecasting 4. Programme Accounting and Support > To provide financial guidance and advice to members of supported teams, through meaningful analysis and interpretation of results and forecasts; > To maintain the integrity of the financial information in the finance system for supported teams; > To review and process grant agreements and grant transfers for supported teams and to challenge where necessary, and to ensure funds are sent within appropriate time frames, balancing programme needs with maximising BRC cashflow; > To process delegate mission floats for supported teams; 5. Restricted Funds International Financial Officer 2 > To provide financial support for bids & reporting to all restricted fund programmes in supported teams > To provide financial support for audits and close-out to all restricted fund programmes in supported teams 6. Management and Training > To provide financial training on financial systems and processes as required to all staff in supported teams; > To carry out the financial induction for new starters in supported teams; 7. Co-ordination and Representation > To provide cover for the International Financial Accounting Manager as required; 8.
