Cheryl is the Director of Internal Audit at Signature Health Care, a $600
million long-term-care provider (skilled nursing facility) with 72 facilities.
She is responsible for developing and managing – from the ground up –
an Internal Audit function and Corporate Compliance Program for a longterm care organization using collectively the COSO and OIG
frameworks. Prior to this position, Cheryl worked as the Senior
Compliance Manager at AMCOMP, INC., a $450 million worker’s compensation insurance company with
regional offices. She had full responsibility for the startup of a company-wide Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)
compliance program encompassing leadership and project management with the utilization of the COSO
and CObIT frameworks. She also maintained the platform for internal controls and SOX compliance and
presented quarterly updates to the Audit Committee and management regarding ongoing activities and
emerging risks. Cheryl’s other significant audit and accounting experience includes working as an Audit
Supervisor for McGladrey & Pullen, an Accounting Manager for First American Insurance Company, and
other diversified Public Accounting Experience.
Cheryl holds a B.S. Accounting and A.S. Paralegal Studies from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT.
Cheryl’s professional designations and affiliations include Florida Certified Public Accountant, American
Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Institute of Internal
Auditors, Association of Healthcare Internal Auditors, Healthcare Compliance Association, and Treasurer
