Then, turn paper over and record what they remember. Compare what students remembered on each article and discuss why they remember the major details of the texting article and not the economy….what does this mean? 4) Think aloud/” Sounds of an Obstructed Airway” as Model an active reader who is concentrating: What do you visualize; what can you relate to; what questions do you have 5) Practice with Concentration: One minute drills in science with 10 question “Respiratory System” and “How the Heart Works” 6) Medical terminology - Negation, Measurement, Bottom MT-5 Day 8: Wednesday, August 7, 2013/ Irene and Cheryl Memory/mnemonics/medical terms using mnemonics/research 1)Warm up reading practice all skills? Use one minute drill; Simple Complex Carbs; rapid read then annotate; create map OR Cornell notes (15 minutes) no time 1) Memory ppt (15 minutes) 2) Group activity creating acronyms and acrostic sentences; group share/present (30 minutes) (Review textbook reading strategies using Pathophysiology chapter. How would they approach assignment class; Jigsaw and have each group share what they would do to understand, organize and remember information on their section) – time? 3) Medical Terms: Review Sheet: Create Mnemonics: Time, General Prefixes 4) LRC 230: Look at websites for Career Research and review assignment; ( 15 minutes); give them an index cards for each subsection i.e qualities they need.
