Learning Outcomes: Students with be able to analyze basic microeconomic managerial
challenges, including demand relationships, cost structures, strategies towards pricing
goods (and services) and some basic market structures in an economy. Students will
develop these skills by solving problems and preparing to successfully complete an
examination on these topics.
Teaching Method: The course is designed on the basis of lectures and discussions of
tools economists have developed.

Course Requirements and Grading: Each student is responsible for eight online
quizzes of multiple choice questions (the Module 0 quiz covers the syllabus and the
number of PowerPoint files), two “memo” assignments and one exam.
The final grade will be obtained with the following weighting scheme:

Important Note: Each student can bring one 8.5x11 “cheat” sheet with anything
they want on the front and back to the exam (but staples, tape and post-its “cost
extra”).
Letter grades will be given according to the following: 94-100 A, 90-93 A-, 87-89 B+,
84-86 B, 80-83 B-, 77-79 C+, 73-76 C, 70-72 C-, 66-69 D+, 60-65 D, 0-59 F. University
regulations require that a student may be considered for an “incomplete” only with 70%
of the course work approved. If you have not completed 70%, please do not ask for an
“incomplete”.
