ABOUT PUERTO VALLARTA
________________________________________________________________________
Imagine... combining picturesque colonial charm, verdant hills of tropical foliage, meandering mountain streams
and infinite strands of golden beaches with luxury hotels, gourmet restaurants, sophisticated nightclubs and
colorful boutiques. Imagine... Puerto Vallarta!
A study symmetry, Puerto Vallarta surprises with its engaging balance between the old and the new. This
venerated port city was virtually unknown to the general vacationing public until director John Huston chose the
locale for his film Night of the Iguana with Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor. As word spread, a burgeoning
influx of guests was seduced by the city's Old Mexico charm. In years since, Puerto Vallarta has become a major
vacation destination, with a multitude of travelers every year attesting to its allure. The city has taken great
strides to become more cosmopolitan, while preserving its vast cultural and natural treasures.
Upscale hotels and retail stores accommodating most any budget are juxtaposed beautifully with the Sierra
Madre, where the Huichol Indians continue their ancient way of life. The region's tropical climate guarantees
beautiful days while you explore the coastline on horseback, lounge on the beach, snorkel amid the fantastic
marine ecosystem, or simply walk the cobblestone streets looking for crafts and trinkets. During the day, a
rainforest and rolling valley hills could be your playground. Then at night, you can relax in a piano lounge or dive
into a Mexican fiesta. With so many pleasures, you'll find yourself returning to Puerto Vallarta again and again!

ARRIVAL PROCEDURE
_________________________________________________________________
Puerto Vallarta International Airport has two terminals: Terminal 1 is used for domestic arrivals. Terminal 2 is
used for some international airlines.
The arrival luggage procedure for each Terminal is different. Arriving at Terminal 1 is easier since all flights are
domestic, passengers won’t go through customs, they will go directly to baggage claim. Luggage ownership will
be proved. If the luggage was documented directly to Puerto Vallarta passengers will be subjected to random
checking.
Passengers arriving at Terminal 2 will go directly to Immigration. One must have the proper identification on
hand. Visitors are given a tourist card valid for 30-90 days. This card must be kept safe as at it must be returned
to the Mexican Immigration official upon departure. After showing the necessary documents one will then
proceed to the baggage claim area. An official will ask for the Customs Declaration Form (previously filled out on
the plane) and to push the stoplight button. If one gets a red light, they will search one’s luggage; if one gets a
green light one may proceed to the exit.
On arrival, once you leave the customs area, please avoid all the time-share sales people who will do everything
they can to attract your attention. Just walk straight out of the building and you will be able to see your
Destination Mexico representatives, dressed in aqua polo shirts and khaki trousers holding a customized sign with
your company’s logo. They will take care of luggage and will escort you to the vehicle for transfer to the hotel of
your choice.
On departure day, hotel pick-up times will be assigned so that guests are to the airport two to two and a half
hours prior to an international flight and one to one and a half hours prior to a national flight. All guests departing
on an international flight will have their checked luggage searched and be asked to turn in their Mexican Tourist
Card which they will have received the day of their arrival.

vegetation and admire the wonderful species of orchids and majestic views that nature offers. You will see the
fauna and multi colored birds that will brighten your day with their singing on the trail to the waterfall.
Once there you will have time to take a refreshing break and swim in the crystal clear waters of the river. The
trail back to the ranch will reveal spectacular views of the mountains. Back at the Ranch you will be served a
delicious Mexican lunch and refreshing drinks from an open bar.
This is the perfect way for you to unwind and enjoy the green views of the typical Mexican countryside and the
breathtaking whimsical Sierra Madre Mountains.

LAS CALETAS
The natural beauty of Las Caletas was discovered by the famous film director John Huston, who lived here for
many years. No visitor could ever disagree with Mr. Huston’s taste in choosing this refuge from the cares of the
world.
Only
accessible by sea, Las Caletas stands out against a steep, forest-clad backdrop of green canopies. This well
secluded tropical nature preserve awaits your discovery. One hour’s sea cruise to paradise on comfortable
catamarans ensures that you witness some of the most dramatic coastal scenery Vallarta has to offer. If pure
relaxation is your personal desire, then Las Caletas is the perfect setting. Comfortable hammocks are hidden in
shady spots for your discovery and enjoyment. As you rest, the gentle lapping of the surf on the golden beach
beckons you to take a closer look.
At Las Caletas we really do want you to recall the breathtaking wonders of nature and to appreciate the prolific
flora and bird life. Enjoy a guided nature walk through the forest and unique orchid gardens; snorkel or kayak
amongst the amazing array of sea life that inhabits this natural cove. SCUBA diving courses and therapeutic body
massages and facials are also available at an additional charge. Las Caletas is, purely and simply, a safe haven
from civilization and Mexico’s answer to the Garden of Eden.

OUTDOOR ADVENTURE
If you are looking for a truly thrilling ecological experience packed with
challenges, adventure and most importantly, fun, our Outdoor Adventure is
the perfect way to spend a day.
Only by leaving the "civilized" world can one truly appreciate the pristine
beauty and immeasurable vastness of the Mexican outdoors - and our
Outdoor Adventure takes place in the jungles of the Sierra Madre, where
scenic beauty and rich ecological habitats create a true tropical paradise.
Your adventure begins with an exhilarating speed boat ride that takes you
to Boca de Tomatlan, a secluded beach at the edge of the jungle on the
southern shores of Banderas Bay. From here, an exciting off-road
expedition aboard our 4x4 Unimogs will take you 2000 ft above sea level
to our base camp in the heart of the Sierra Madre Mountains.
Then, you'll take a fascinating mule ride higher and further into the subtropical forest, where you'll begin a series of thrilling zip lines, rappel down
waterfalls, cross jungle bridges and splash through streams and natural
river pools on the Outdoor Adventure Circuit.
Often called Canopy Tour's "Big Brother," this exciting ecotour brings out
the child in all of us. With the highest and longest ziplines in Mexico, at
almost 1000 ft long and 250 ft high, it’s no wonder that many people have
referred to the experience as a Canopy Tour on steroids!

GOLF IN VALLARTA
_________________________________________________________________
Please note that for managing golf reservations Destination Mexico requests a handling fee of
15% of the golf rate per person.
VISTA VALLARTA GOLF COURSE
Conceived and developed by Club Corp International from
Dallas, Texas, Vista Vallarta is destined to become the
premier golf destination in Mexico.
Opened in April of 2001, the first course at Vista Vallarta is a
signature design by Jack Nicklaus (18 holes, 72 par). Since
this course is located on the property’s highest elevation,
golfers are treated not only to world class golf, but will enjoy
breathtaking views of Puerto Vallarta, the Marina and
Banderas Bay as well. Grassy hillsides, dense palm forests,
giant ficas trees, natural creeks and arroyos provide the
perfect setting for this world class course by the world's
greatest player.
The second course (18 holes, 72 par) opened in November, 2001. This is a signature design by Tom Weiskopf
and provides Vista Vallarta with a dramatic contrast from its first course. Built on the property’s lower west end,
the terrain is extreme with dense jungles, deep ravines and swift creeks. Mr. Weiskopf has done a masterful job
of blending the elevations and natural features into an incredibly playable experience... from the first tee to the
green of the "drivable" 18th.
Not to be outdone by the golf course architects, Gomez Vazquez Asociados from Guadalajara has designed Vista
Vallarta’s clubhouse in the traditional style of the region. The 13,000 square feet “Casa Club” includes every
modern convenience with the warmth and Old World charm of a Mexican hacienda.
MARINA VALLARTA GOLF COURSE
Marina Vallarta Golf Club is located in the heart of Marina
Vallarta, walking distance from member hotels and easily
accessible to all. The course was designed by famed
American architect Joe Finger and opened in 1989.
You can play this year-round, challenging 18-hole, par-71
layout while enjoying lush vegetation and natural lagoons
alive with wildlife, including herons, sea geese, iguanas,
alligators and the scenic shores of Banderas Bay.
29
EL TIGRE GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB
Creating the most exciting championship golf course in Mexico
was the challenge given to the team of Von Hagge, Smelek
and Baril, designers of over 200 of the world’s finest golf
courses. The result is a 7,239 yard masterpiece with 18 holes
(72 par).
The memorable experience begins upon arrival at the Club, as
golfers pass through an impressive stone archway resembling
a Mayan temple, beside which a real Bengal tiger lives securely
in his habitat. Further in, the 45,000 square foot clubhouse sits
perched in the heart of El Tigre offering spectacular views in
all directions.

LEAVING YOUR FOOTSTEPS IN PUERTO VALLARTA – Community Outreach Programs
_________________________________________________________________
Mexico is a beautiful country but has basic requirements that need to be covered. Destination Mexico is closely
working with the Governments of Nayarit and Jalisco, rural schools and orphanages. Companies with a social
profile enjoy day time activities that involve interacting with children in their normal environment. Several
communities in Puerto Vallarta would also appreciate your company collaboration.
This program’s main idea is to create consciousness and ultimately generate an impact in these children´s lives
to improve the quality of life they have. If you are interested, please let us know.
Destination Mexico Coordination fee: US$ 25.00 p/p
SCAVENGER HUNT/ BUILD YOUR OWN BIKE
This activity's goal is to build-up a bicycle, decorate it and donate it to children from a local orphanage. Your
abilities to work as a team will be crucial to achieve your goal, in a creative and precise way.
Participants are divided into teams, each with a different color. Our staff delivers a bag to each team containing
a mat and a marker, five envelopes with instructions and five pencils (one of each per couple), and just ONE
instant camera per TEAM which will have to be shared by the team's couples to complete the tasks required.
Guests are asked to write down their team's name on the mat with the marker and place it in the center of your
table. It is very important that everybody ALWAYS remember their team's name!
When all tasks have been achieved, each couple will be able to get a part of the bike and teams will then have
to get together to assemble and decorate the bicycle. Creativity will be greatly considered and marked-up
accordingly. Remember that time is precious and that points will be discounted for each and every
unaccomplished task.
A team of bilingual animators will supervise the construction and collaborate with the teams (without getting
directly involved with the project itself) and will only offer suggestions and attend all teams in general. After the
activity, the bicycles will be donated to a local institution for kids who live far from their schools.

The activity
consists of a

“Wine
World”
accompanie
d by wine
tasting and

challenges
where the main goal is to win the “Golden Cork”.
Imagine a wine “trader” at New York Stock Exchange where negotiating is the “key”. Teams create their wine,
brand, and their own label for the bottle stating on it all the characteristics that make, both the team and the
product, “unique”.
Teams will have to face international challenges such as the Australian “Corkapult” or the French “Cork of
Triumph”. Members will watch their partners achieve their goals and emerge with a solid knowledge of wine,
which they will never forget.
They will receive all the technical knowledge for them to become experts. They will not only learn about flavors
and sommelier techniques, but they will also become part of the Wine-producers Elite”.
Outcome: Dynamic rapport among team members, communication, creativity, strategizing and challenges
solving, to surface hidden problems & agendas, appreciation for individuals differences and strengths, trust,
build-up a strong working relationship, teamwork and motivation, fun.

MATCH
Teams must compete between each other in different challenges like: creativity, skills and team work. Each team
will receive a check list where they should mark each point gained in each test. The team with the highest score
wins. The game is played in tribes of 10 people they must complete each challenge to gain points.
Each team will randomly pick a list supply. Lists will be different for each team. Team members must collect
their own supplies and build their own boat to cross the pool altogether.
Once they arrived to the other side of the pool, they will find new supplies, which must be combined with those
of their own boat to build the highest tower. The team with the highest tower wins.
Variant: The activity may skip boat building. Instead, inflatable boats will be provided and teams will use them to
move the supplies for tower building across the pool. In such case, team members will be knot from the waist
and the slowest team member will give speed to the team.
Teams will receive instructions to assemble an aerostatic balloon. Each balloon will be filled with a welding torch;
each team should decide in which moment stop filling the balloon and set it free.

TREASURE HUNT
At the beginning of the activity, the group will find the chest with a treasure. The only problem, is that there is no
way to open it without destroying its content, unless you find the key.
The group is divided in small teams. Each team will receive a map and clues to find the treasure key. Some clues
can only be obtained when the group finishes a challenge, others are presented as riddles and basic skills tests.
Teams will notice that the only way to open the chest is by team work. Each team has one part of the answer.
Everyone wins! Once all the teams have their clues and maps, the group can open the treasure. Because every
one has contributed to the hunt, each member gets a part of the treasure. It can be a symbol, or a souvenir
from the seminar/ convention/ event, a logo t-shirt, a medal, or whatever item.
Once the treasure is open, it will be a debriefing to analyze the participants and their learning about the activity.

BEACH CHALLENGE
Participants and Teams:
There are a total of (6) teams competing with (7-8) participants per team.
Each of the teams will be identified by a color either wearing corresponding -colored custom visors or some other
piece of matching apparel – to be provided by Destination Mexico.
Goal/Scope:
There are four ‘challenges’ that each team must complete.
Each challenge will represent one of the necessary components of a successful partnership (communication,
synergy, strategy + trust). The underlying component, applicable to each activity, is teamwork.
All teams will compete in each challenge at the same time. The goal is to complete each challenge successfully in
the least amount of time. All results from the four challenges will be tallied up and an overall winner declared.
Sport Challenges:
1. Partner race (Communication)
All team members will have their ankles tied to each other, and will have to run together to collect the colored
balls on a track and cross the finish line. Teams will be penalized for any balls that they have failed to pick up
along the way.
2. Beach Olympics (Synergy)
Each team will run with fins through a race with obstacles (chairs, fabrics, buckets, etc), get to a point and come
back with an item. It can be rocks, balls, etc. Then move to another station making a line and running to a stick
placed on the sand and run in circles around the stick with their head on it, and after 10 rounds come back
running for the next participants turn. In another station the team makes a huge hole and put everybody on the
team inside the sand. The first to be completely inside wins the point.
3. Tower of Hanoi (Strategy)
As illustrated below, each team will be positioned in front of a set of three poles: the pole on the left-hand side
will have five disks stacked from largest to smallest. The goal is to move all of the disks to the furthermost right
47
pole, one disk at a time, without ever putting a disk on top of one that is smaller. The middle pile is for
intermediate storage. Here's how the game looks:
4. Volleyball with fins (Trust)
Each team will compete against one other team in a traditional game of beach volleyball, except that all players
will be playing with fins on their feet. The fins make it essential for the team to work together as a whole, since
they inhibit movement and make it impossible to have only the strongest players compensate for the others. The
first of the two teams to get 10 points will win the match.

COMMENTS
_________________________________________________________
1) All prices quoted here are valid for 2013. These costs include all applicable taxes. Throughout the course of
the year, some rates may change, and we reserve the right to adjust our prices accordingly; however, we will
endeavour to keep costs as low as possible. The government tax, IVA, is 16% at this time and subject to change
without previous notice. Please bear in mind that 2014 prices are usually released around November or December
each year, so we will update the rates then. In the meantime, you can consider approximately 10% increase for
budgeting purposes.
2) Our prices do not include a provision for tour directors from your company.
3) Tips to guides, drivers and boat crews are included only where indicated.
4) There is no provision made here for a Site Inspection trip should one be considered. Our normal policy is that
if the business has been confirmed to us beforehand we will negotiate complimentary or discounted services as
far as possible and only charge what is absolutely necessary to the client. However, if the business has not been
confirmed beforehand, we will charge in full and then credit back whatever is possible against the final invoice of
the group.
We hope we have provided you with enough options and information to be considered by you. If you feel there is
anything missing or anything which needs further clarification, please let us know and we will be happy to send
the information along to you.
We thank you very much for your kind consideration of this proposal and very much look forward to the
opportunity to collaborate with you on any of your projects in Mexico.
