be gathered from observing what he does with a
sentence when asked to repeat one”

Every child participates.
Every child converses with the group facilitator.
The group facilitator considers the use of the language registers.
The group facilitator recasts and re-models language to enhance
the student’s word choices.
The group facilitator talks to students about the oral language
continuum (registers).
The group facilitator actively uses and expects effective
questioning.
The students are expected to generalize their oral language
knowledge into the classroom.
The teachers to positively build on ‘Talking Time’ within the
classroom (e.g., don’t accept forms of slang in oral or written
form).
