Emalahleni Municipality is a Grade 2 municipality comprising of Indwe, Dordrecht and Lady Frere

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the filling of the following positions:
1. INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT & HUMAN SETTLEMENTS DIRECTORATE
FOREMAN (ROADS AND STORMWATER)
SALARY SCALE: Task Grade: 7 R100 440.15 –R130 374.29
REQUIREMENTS





Grade 12/Matric Certificate
Knowledge of concrete work works, stormwater drainage systems and road maintenance
technique
Valid code 10 driver’s licence
5 year related experience or appropriate apprentice
Working knowledge of Xhosa, English and issue quotes
Responsibilities






Organise and control staff
Control of materials, plant and equipment
Able to do job costing
Responsible for the road maintenance work
Liaise directly with community
Control performance of staff under his supervision
GRADE OPERATOR
SALARY SCALE Task Grade: 6 R83 079.23 – R107 847.29
REQUIREMENTS







A minimum of standard eight
The operator will be required to reside on site where the operations are being carried out
Fluency in Xhosa and English
Code 14 drivers’ licence
Skills testing will be done
Knowledge of stormwater drainage systems and roads maintenance
Preference will be given to operators residing within Chris Hani District Municipality
Responsibilities





Upgrading and maintenance of gravel roads
Maintenance of sport fields and parks
Reporting to the Plant’s Foreman
Daily site operations
Skills testing will be done
METER READER
SALARY SCALE: Task Grade 5 R70 375.25 – R91 344.95
REQUIREMENTS


Minimum of standard ten / Grade 12 with mathematics or accounting
Fluency in Xhosa and English
Responsibilities



Performs tasks / activities associated with reading of meters of Lady Frere consumers
Identify leakages and report them to Emalahleni Local Municipality
Report fault meters
