As a child, I was exposed to many faith traditions…Methodist, AME (African Methodist
Episcopal), Baptist. But predominantly Baptist – my Mom was the Minister of Music at Mt Zion
Baptist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas. I also attended Catholic and Episcopal schools that held
chapel. I’m a graduate of Spelman College, in Atlanta and received my MBA from Atlanta
University.
I discovered New Thought in 1981 through Religious Science in Chicago. I became affiliated
with Unity after I moved to the Washington area in 1989. I have been a very active member of
Unity of Gaithersburg. Most recently, I joined Unity of Fairfax in 2010, after moving back to
Reston, VA.
I love Unity because it resonates with my soul as Truth. I found that new thought answered
many of the questions I had as a child. As an adult, I find the philosophy is one that moderates
the stressful environment that I work in.
I work as a Financial Advisor and live in Reston.

It is no accident that the happiness I have achieved in life flows largely from the fact that I
started in Unity at about the same time as I married Denise, my beautiful wife. The combination
of these two realities, along with the presence of my children and my Unity family, has brought
me limitless joy and love. Professionally, I started a consulting firm last year where my core
client is VF Corporation, the largest apparel maker in the world. I am helping them elevate
workplace safety standards in facilities located in 52 countries across the world for brands such
as North Face, Timberland, Vans, Lee Jeans and Wrangler. I am also helping to launch an antihunger initiative for people in tropical and sub-tropical areas, where 80% of the world’s
impoverished population lives. Previously, I worked as an international representative for the
Teamsters union for 31 years.
