ALLIED MILLING & BAKING JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title Advanced Team Member (Holiday Relief) Dept / Business Function Hygiene Job Grade TBC Location Belfast Date March 2012 Reports To Hygiene Supervisor/Manager Job Purpose As a multi skilled hygiene team member you will be responsible for Hygiene ATM holiday relief, which includes the effective and efficient deep cleaning and pest control in line with the Company’s standards and procedures, whilst maintaining a safe, clean, food safe and pest free environment. Dimensions of Job Health & Safety: To follow safety procedures as written by Allied Bakeries including risk assessments, SOPS, correct wearing of PPE and other specific safety instructions relevant to the task being undertaken. To lead by example and demonstrate safety first through following guidelines, interpreting the requirements of Health & Safety by ensuring compliance with all statutory regulations and legislation. To report Hazards, near misses and faults to the appropriate person to assist in the prevention of accidents. Cost: To assist in reducing/ controlling costs associated with running the hygiene teams in respect to hours worked, efficiency, control of stock/ consumables, hygiene PDP’s, C.I. etc Quality: To maintain the desired standard of Factory cleanliness/ Pest Control by completing all the required cleaning tasks to AB Site and Legal standards. Conduct hygiene SOP reviews, and area hygiene & GMP audits in liaison with next line manager/ supervisor. Service : To operate an effective and efficient Team and ensure hygiene scheduling & deadlines are met to agreed internal and external company & customer requirements. People : Operate within a flexible team and facilitate team briefings, supporting colleagues when required to ensure good team dynamics and the sharing of Good Manufacturing Practices. Develop own and others personal development Continuous Improvement: Adopt and apply continuous improvement tools and techniques to maintain and improve hygiene team performance ALLIED MILLING & BAKING JOB DESCRIPTION Key Accountabilities To take responsibility for the efficient operation of your team, cleaning to agreed standards and frequencies (as per SOP,) whilst maintaining pest free conditions within your sphere of control. Employing all necessary controls in accordance with Site Food Safety, Health & Safety and Environmental management systems and procedures. To continually audit & review Hygiene scheduling and deep cleaning effectiveness, seeking cost saving ideas whilst maintaining the full utilisation of people, materials and equipment, in conjunction with hygiene supervisor/ manager. To prepare plant and equipment for hygienic, pest-free operation in a safe manner and if needed to perform minor maintenance adjustments with the ability to be able to carry out minor repairs, reporting major faults on (EAM), strip-downs/ rebuilds, etc... To carry out visual PM checks on all plant and equipment, recording in line with procedures and alerting any problems to the Engineers. Demonstrate your responsibilities in adhering to ABSS standards and actively contribute to these standards, respecting internal and external audits. Monitor and identify areas of possible product contamination or potential risk to food safety and raise and action accordingly (HACCP)\informing the Next Line Manager/Shift Manager if you are unable to remove at the earliest opportunity. Follow all instructions, guidance and training given at all times, sharing best practice through cross functional working and adopting what is learnt into the daily routine/role. To contribute as part of a team in assisting to meet the departments Key Performance Indicators and to act outside of the daily schedule and focus on areas for improvement to hygiene, deep cleaning, pest control, efficiency or cost. Additional Accountabilities To be flexible as mobility of labour and interchangeable skills are required for this role. To have the potential to provide cover for the Shift Supervisor in unforeseen circumstances. To assist in conducting Risk Assessments, Standard Operating Procedures, Planned General Inspections, Behavioural Safety Observations and Equipment Checks Train and support peers to achieve their full working capability. Provide constructive feedback to colleagues Decision Making Authority Authority to stop processes or operations and action / remediate in the event of quality or food safety issues, Serious Health and Safety issues and serious equipment failure or imminent equipment failure. Authority to challenge when necessary Tasks may include an element of co-ordinating Team Members e.g. relocating to other roles, coordinating breaks, job delegation, etc. based on priority and need on the ground.
