¿What is the Excretory System?
Is a biological system that:
 Removes excess.
 Helps maintain internal chemical homeostasis.
 Prevent damage to the body.
The dual function of excretory systems is:
 The elimination of the waste
 To drain the body of used and broken down components in a
liquid and gaseous state.

 Kidneys
 Ureter

 Urethra

Urinary System
Kidney
 Works on the removal of the




nitrogenous wastes from the
blood, such as: urea, salts, and
excess of water. Coming out
in the form of urine.
It's possible to lose as much as
90% of kidney function
without experiencing any
symptoms or problems.

Medical Trend: Nephritis
and Nephrosis.
Ureter
 Carries urine from the
kidney to the urinary
bladder.
