At the end of the quarter, you will be expected to perform in an oral exam covering thirty terms used
during the Westward Expansion Unit.
TEST DAY: March 9th (GREEN) March 10th (PURPLE)
In addition to knowing each term correctly, you must be able to define the term within the context of
the material (describe the definition using facts and examples given in your class and textbook).
Definitions and studying of the terms must be completed on your own time. Use your information given

You will be assessed during your exam on your success of correctly identifying and describing
the vocabulary. In addition to your teacher’s assessment, you will also be scored on the IB
rubric for criterion A. Both scores will be recorded on the back of this sheet; which MUST be
given to the teacher BEFORE your exam.
Criterion A: Knowledge

Knowledge is fundamental to studying humanities, and forms the base from which to explore concepts and develop skills.
Knowledge and understanding can be assessed through a wide variety of tasks that involve factual recall or description, and
explanation. Tasks may include tests, examinations, written assignments, oral interviews and presentations, extended writing,
projects and exhibits.
