Timeline Create a timeline with at least 6 major events from the French Revolution. In should follow the proper format of a timeline, include an appropriate symbol (drawn by you) and a short description (no more than 20 words) of each event. Storyboard Create a storyboard (series of pictures) that shows events leading up to the French Revolution. You should draw 5 pictures and write a caption for each. 4 Point Projects: Draw a Political Cartoon Create a political cartoon that could have been created about Napoleon Bonaparte crowning himself emperor on Dec. 2, 1804. Create a billboard Create an advertisement by the women of France who participated in the March to Versailles in 1789 Newspaper Editorial Write an editorial (opinion piece for the newspaper) explaining why you support or do not support the French Revolution. You will need to state your opinion and why you feel that way backed up with facts. Make sure you’re writing like you lived during the French Revolution! Write a Revolution song Write the words to a song that explains the grievances of the Third Estate/Revolutionaries that they might have sung (while storming the Bastille, after forming the National Assembly, etc.). 6 Point Projects: Write a letter from Robespierre Write a letter to a person alive today that explains his actions and why he did them. Remember, you are writing as though YOU are Robespierre. Write a letter from a member of the third estate Write a letter to a person alive today that explains the actions of the Third Estate prior to the French Revolution. 8 Point Projects: Write a diary of a Noble during the Reign of Terror Create a diary of at least four entries that discusses the important aspects and events of the Revolution and the Reign of Terror from a Noble’s point of view. (For example: What is was like to be a noble before the Revolution and what it’s like to be a noble during the Reign of Terror. How you feel about the Tennis Court Oath and the storming of the Bastille.) Write a textbook chapter Create a textbook chapter on The French Revolution that explains everything you know about its causes, events, effects, people involved, etc. This project is not very creative—write FACTS in a professional way. You must include on picture or chart and a caption. You may want to put your vocabulary words in bold with the definitions in the text. Compare and Contrast Write a 1 page paper comparing and contrasting the Declaration of the Rights of Man and the U.S. Declaration of Independence. Use the exemplars provided by Ms. Keale to help you figure out what your project is supposed to look like. You are more than welcome to turn in your assignments as you complete them, and Ms. Keale will hold onto them for you.
