Poetry Analysis For both poems complete the steps below (we did this before) and then complete the required information in your Poetry analysis packet for Analysis #1: Directions: You will read the poem twice, completing the following for each read: First reading: 1. Read for a general understanding 2. Underline any confusing words or lines Second reading: 1. Summarize each stanza (briefly) 2. Try to answer/understand what you underlined during the first reading 3. Write down any lingering questions Discussion 1. Clear up any confusion over words, lines and stanzas. 2. Answer any lingering questions. 3. Discuss the poems in terms of your answers to Analysis #1. 4. Feel free to discuss ideas/interpretations regarding both poems that are not direct answers to the questions from Analysis #1.
