Spring Leadership Course 4/8/15 and 4/15/15
Course Goal: Support collaborative leadership learning focused on increasing student achievement as we transition
to new assessments aligned to the Tennessee State Standards.
Today’s Class Goals:
1. To collaboratively engage school leaders in reflecting on the actions they have focused since Class One for:
o Leader actions
o Teacher actions
o Student Behaviors
2. To frame the instructional planning for leaders around a purposeful, balanced approach to assessment, curricular, and instructional
strategies/professional learning
3. To understand the practice tools and features available to assist teachers measure student progress
4. To understand how the TNReady Blueprints can be utilized in local curricular planning to ensure teachers focus on the major work of the
grade in their planning (math and ELA)
5. To know how to utilize item designs to help teachers plan engaging daily activities for students that emphasize the characteristics of
TNReady expectations (math and ELA)
6. To engage school leaders in an actionable conversation around the relationship between technology usage and student college and career
readiness expectations
7. To best leverage planning resources and Learning Leaders to successfully start the 2015-15 school year
