MyPlate Computer Lab Instructions sign on and go to Methacton School District web-site click on teacher sites on the left side click on Skyview Upper Elementary click on Mr. Kirschner click on 6th Grade Nutrition Computer Lab link on the left hand side click on choosemyplate.gov link on the top GREEN menu bar place your mouse over SuperTracker and other tools scroll down and over and click on Daily Food Plans in the first sentence in the description box click on the Daily Food Plan link input your personal information and click submit you will see a personalized daily food plan based on the information you put in to the right of the table of food groups listing the amounts you should be consuming, you will see three links under View, Print and Learn More: click on the first link (Your Results) and print out the page which will show up in a separate window once you print out this page go back to the links under View, Print and Learn More: and click on the second link (Meal Tracking Worksheet) and print out the page which will show up in a separate window The Meal Tracking Worksheet will be your homework. 1. You will list everything you eat and drink for one day in the left column. Be as specific as you can (example: whole grain bread or not, how many ounces etc). 2. Circle all of your empty calories. 3. In the 5th column (Match Your Food Choices with Each Food Group) list your foods that you ate for the day in the correct food group. 4. Then in the next column estimate how much of each food you ate using the guidelines given on the sheet. How close were you to the Daily Food Plan that was given to you based on your age, gender, and physical activity information you entered? 5. Fill out the bottom of the sheet and write your goals.
