Dear SEED Applicant,
Thank you for your interest in the Student-managed Endowment for Education Development.
SEED is the largest student-managed portfolios in the country, ending fiscal year 2013 with over
$6.3 assets under management. The fund’s objective is to outperform the S&P 500 annually by
100 basis points. The SEED team conducts the ongoing operations of the fund and provides a
unique opportunity for students to gain practical experience in investment analysis and portfolio
management. We encourage you to visit our website at http://www.VirginiaTechSEED.com or
our Facebook page Virginia Tech SEED to learn more about the program and the opportunities
available through SEED.
Being a member of the SEED program has been one of the most rewarding experiences of our
collegiate career. The analytical skills and professional development provided by SEED are
without parallel. SEED’s detailed analysis of our nation’s equity markets yields extensive
learning opportunities and personal rewards. Our program relies on dedication and teamwork,
which is cultivated by individual talent and academic prowess. The organization is designed to
provide training in equity analysis, problem solving, and experience in portfolio management.
This experience is well regarded by recruiting professionals and applicable to a broad array of
career fields.
Now in its twenty-third year, SEED remains a prestigious organization with outstanding growth
potential. To realize this potential we must continue recruiting successfully from all colleges at
Virginia Tech. We are excited that you have an interest in becoming a SEED member, and we
look forward to meeting you. As you move forward through the application process, please
remember that team members are here to answer any questions that you may have about our
organization and the application process. Please reach out with any questions.
