They allow readers an escape from our world and let us journey the fantastic worlds they create. They give us new understandings and different views on everything. It’s as if you're living this amazing world of fiction and it allows us to live our dreams that we never thought of actually achieving. My MirrorI see myself as a very sarcastic and procrastinative person, that is afraid to do things out of the ordinary and would rather just be like everyone else. Also I see myself as a hard working academic student that struggles at times but eventually gets it. How Others See Me“Jorge is sarcastic. He’s not like a rude sarcastic. but a funny sarcastic! People who don’t get to know him, automatically think he’s quiet, when he’s not. (: He’s hilarious and challenges himself with school & his reading” - Vivi Mascorro “ Jorge is FUNNY! He can make ANYTHING funny! Not only is he funny, but he is also smart. Jorge makes it look like getting good grades is easy but he actually works very hard to get the grades he has right now. Overall, Jorge is a hardworking, well rounded student and a really good friend. (:” - Sherisse Bautista aka BIG DADDY SHERIZZLE 5 Things I Would Like People To Know About Me - ● I am an only child. I got interested in being a lawyer due to my interest in using the law to change lives such as defending or changing the law for the greater good. What excited you about your job Discovering new things I didn't know such as other peoples views on things and the way things work in different situations. Future of your job I am interested to run my own law firm by looking into the necessities and creating a plan. Typical Day My days are very diverse. In the morning I might be talking to a founder of a start-up on basic education on the law, then in the afternoon I might be working on a huge case with a group of lawyers. Worst Day on the Job My worst day on the job was the day my alarm clock didn't work. I was 2 hours late to work and had an important meeting with a huge client. I had to review my notes a few times to finally get into full on lawyer mode. My boss almost fired me but when he noticed that I shook it right off and put my best into the situation, he decided otherwise. Likes & Dislikes About My Job I like being able to take part in a decision that can affect many people for the greater good. I also like proving my case right. Interview Questions 1- When did you get involved with Latham & Watkins? 3- What do you mainly do at Latham & Watkins? 2- What is a typical day in your shoes at Latham & Watkins? 4- Would you recommend becoming a Lawyer? “1. I got involved working at Latham & Watkins during the summer of 2011 while I was still a law student. During summers in law school, students have the opportunity to work at different jobs in order to see what you like or don’t like. 2 & 3. I am still a junior associate (in my second full year at Latham). I do mostly finance, which involves helping clients get loans that they need to run their business. We negotiate and document the loans that the client will borrow from the bank and try to help them get the best deal possible. On any given day, this may involve having phone calls with the client or the bank that is giving the loan, emailing about the loans, or working on the loan documents. 4. I would definitely recommend being a lawyer. It gives you lots of different options for different types of work that you can do, and the job will never be stale or boring. It is very challenging but also very rewarding. Further, you have the ability to help lots of people who are in need.” -Adam Bierman What Did I Learn From This Project I learned that I am still unsure of what I want to do when I graduate. I am sure of going to college but not sure on what to major on or do after that. This project opened my eyes to the opportunities but not which ones are for me.
