+ The Kermode bear is a real bear; An estimated 400-1000 are
currently in existence and live in the central and northern coast
of British Columbia, Canada. These are not albino bears
because they have brown eyes and a brown nose. It is illegal
to hunt this bear. The Kermode bear is 4-6 ft in length and
weighs between 150-300 lbs. It is an omnivore, eating plants,
insects, deer, spawning salmon, and dead animals. They
usually live alone and up to 25 years. The spirit bear
symbolizes wisdom, peace, and harmony.
