Implement second year aspects of the Response to Intervention (RtI) Program in our school:
Benchmarks: a.
Incorporate Dana Hall-reading coach and Laurie Biser-math coach with an intriguing and effective educational experience for staff and students b.
Continue to emphasize the implementation of the RtI program, putting the focus on reading, mathematics, and positive school wide discipline program c.
Continue the “Power Up” RtI master schedule times (30 minutes/4 days a week) for intervention and enrichment opportunities for students of all Tiers d.
Focus on the academic development of our enrichment groups for our Tier 1 students e.
Provide remediation and intervention opportunities to all students who do not make adequate progress f.
Every fourth Tuesday of each month an RtI team (classroom teachers, CO personnel, administration, guidance/RTISS, social workers) will meet with each grade level during planning time to discuss the students’ progress or regress (Progress Monitoring)

Develop Excellence In Educational Opportunities for students and staff:
Benchmarks: a.
Continue to focus on maximizing math, reading and writing development through curriculum, staff development, and continuous program evaluation through CWT’s b.
Emphasize the importance of our After School remediation program. With nearly half of our school enrolled in the after school program, the opportunity to work closely with these students is a focus for CRES c.
Implement staff collaboration meetings once a month to share knowledge in all grade levels for better instruction throughout the school

Continue our strong positive school-wide discipline program- focus on consistency and positive re-enforcement from grade level to grade level e.
Provide staff with relevant staff development opportunities

Continue the integration of technology for instruction:
Benchmarks: a.
Continue to put increased emphasis on whole class use of the computer lab; and library classes to incorporate more technology b.
Prepare staff and students for on-line SOL testing in grades 3-5 for all subjects this year c.
Continue to provide staff development for web page development and instructional technology in the classroom through our ITRT d.
Oversee the staff web-pages to make sure they are updated regularly e.
Continue consistent use of instructional aides in the computer lab for assistance f.
Encourage instructional staff to pursue NETS-T certification and to participate in the
Augusta County Schools Technology Challenge class g.
Increase use of the Smart Board throughout all grade levels h.
Integrate the use of our iPod school set and our iPod Touch classroom set in fourth grade i.
Grade level teachers and specialists must submit all documents, forms, etc. electronically.

Continue to put a strong emphasis on school wellness and safety:
Benchmarks: a.
Continue to promote the importance of staying fit for our faculty and staff through our school wellness team b.
Stress to faculty and staff the importance of 60 minutes of physical activity a day for students; and the importance of constant movement in all classrooms

Meet with our school wellness committee chairman regularly to plan school wide wellness events d.
Continue to maintain a safe school climate that focuses on positive relationships through our positive school wide discipline plan and maintain our “Mustang Motto” : Be
Responsible, Be Respectful, and Be a Good Learner e.
Update all crisis intervention plans and provide staff development for all revisions to the crisis intervention plans including new county wide codes and policy manual revisions f.
Continue to emphasize the importance and seriousness of all crisis drills throughout the school year

Maintain focus on Patriotism and Citizenship throughout the school:
Benchmarks: a.
Continue Flag Fridays at CRES- emphasizing the importance of the American Flag and our National Anthem on Fridays b.
Teachers teach instruction on the American flag and our independence as a country to the students and stress the importance of significance of our flag c.
Students will properly stand with their hands over their hearts during the playing of our
National Anthem (stand tall and still with eyes on the flag, hand over heart, and hats off) d.
Lions Club members will present the Citizenship Award meaning to the faculty and staff- in which they will relate it to the children. The members will also present to each grade level the importance of being a positive community member. e.
