A. COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This year in Science we will explore various levels of Science
required by the Texas Education Agency. The students will learn
different topics associated with physical science, life science, and
earth science.
B. COURSE OBJECTIVES:
Objective 1 –Demonstrate safe practices during labs.
Objective 2- Use scientific inquiry methods during labs.
Objective 3 – Use and demonstrate the appropriate tools in lab.
Objective 4 –Identify how interactions occur between matter and
energy.
Objective 5 – Identify the physical and chemical properties of matter.
Objective 6- Identify the relationship among force, motion, and
energy.
Objective 7- Identify how natural events and human activity can
impact Earth Systems.
Objective 8- Identify the components of our solar system
Objective 9- Identify the relationship between organisms and the
environment.
Objective 10 – Identify how over generations populations and species
inherit many of their traits.
Objective 11- Explain and investigate how internal structures of
organisms have adaptations for specific functions.

D. COURSE SPECIFICS:
I have high expectations for my students. I believe all students can
learn.
I expect all students to attend class and be prepared to learn.
I will follow the grading policy as indicated in the MMS handbook.
It is the responsibility of the student to ask for missed assignments.
E. CLASSROOM RULES OF CONDUCT:
Students are to follow science safety rules at all times. Failure to
follow these rules can result in a student being removed from a lab.
Each student is responsible for his/her behavior. If the behavior is a
class disruption the student will be removed from the classroom and
be given a discipline sheet.
The student(s) may be assigned to lunch detention or after school
detention regarding missing assignments and/or negative behavior.
