Organizational Description:

The Museum of the African Diaspora (MoAD), a young and dynamic nonprofit organization based in the cultural district in downtown San Francisco, showcases the history, art and the rich forms of cultural expression that resulted from the dispersal of Africans throughout the world.

MoAD is seeking a results-driven, organized Education Manager with a strong track record for developing and implementing effective and innovative education programs. 



The Museum of the African Diaspora is seeking an organized and motivated person for the newly created position of digital marketing coordinator. The candidate will be responsible, under the direction of the Marketing Manager, for the day to day management of website content updates as well as tracking of digital marketing efforts. This position requires familiarity with content management systems and online analytics tools.

Position Description:

The coordinator should be self-sufficient, hardworking and very organized. This position requires a background in digital marketing including social media, SEO, paid search, email marketing and online analytics. The coordinator must demonstrate the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. This position requires self-direction, tact, and a clear, courteous and professional manner when dealing with partners, staff, clients and vendors. In addition, they must demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with staff inside and outside of the department.

Specific duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Deploy the online marketing strategy and efforts through various online platforms.

Play an active role in the engagement and growth of the firm’s online presence.

Pull analytics of websites, run reports on email marketing campaigns and related activities.

Improve and maintain website through updates, quality assurance checks and proofreading.

Monitor, update and report on paid search campaigns

Schedule, update and post for the firm blog

Deploy social media strategy through creating posts, scheduling and engagement

Stay current on digital marketing best practices

Assemble, distribute and post electronic newsletter

Create and distribute email marketing campaigns

Assist in the development of media communications, including video and webinars

Assist in event preparation, proposal assembly, design updates and other duties when needed.

Assist with the daily operation of the marketing group, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum 1-3 years related work experience (preferred)

Bachelors degree in marketing, communications or related field (desired)

Microsoft Office proficient; basic knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator (desired)

Knowledge of emerging digital media trends, SEO best practices, paid search experience and social media platforms (preferred)

Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills (preferred)

Strong organization, time management and detail orientation skills (preferred)

Ability to work independently and work well in teams while demonstrating initiative (preferred)

Ability to multi-task while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines (preferred)

High level of confidentiality, professionalism, and flexibility (preferred)

Willingness to learn and accept constructive criticism (preferred)
