Lab 08 and 09: Working with Microsoft PowerPoint
In this assignment, you have to create presentation slides using Microsoft PowerPoint 2010,
which you have to save as presentation.ppt.
1. You have to make your team. For lab 8 and lab 9, your team will make SINGLE presentation
slide and do your presentation in front of students. Don’t change your team for lab 8 and lab 9.
2. First of all, please watch the link. It shows how to prepare and organize the presentation. You
have to follow their advice.

3. Now, you have to decide what topic you want to present. Any topics are available.
 Example 1: Introducing a new product as you are CEO of the company
i. For example, suppose that you are Steve Jobs, who was a CEO in Apple and you
are supposed to do your presentation to introduce a new iPhone (Let’s say
iPhone 5 or anything). You may want to show the new functions of iPhone like
what he did. You can go to the web site, http://www.apple.com/iphone, to
gather new features, technical specification of a new iPhone.
 Example 2: Any Issues and Computers in Context in the end of each chapter
i. Privacy and location tracking by GPS and RFID
ii. Computer and Marketing: How can computers work in marketing?
iii. E-waste problem
iv. What and how do the military affect the computer technology?
v. Software piracy
vi. Computers in Journalism
vii. Real effects of computer crimes
viii. Computer forensics
ix. And so on.
Make it sure whether you can handle PowerPoint before you work. Please read the text book first
unless you are familiar with PowerPoint.

Plan your presentation (page: PowerPoint 4~7). Discuss together with your team members.
Be familiar with Basic functions of PowerPoint (page: PowerPoint 8~11).
Apply a design theme you like to your presentation file (page: PowerPoint 12~15).
Create a title slide with the presentation title, your name, your team members, and date.
Create an outline page.
Create presentation slides including followings








Formatted text (Font Size, Bold, Underline, Italic and so on) (page: PowerPoint 26~29)
SmartArt with a graphic image or shapes (page: PowerPoint 30~37)
Slide Headers and Footers (page: PowerPoint 38~41)
Clip Art and Stylish pictures (page: PowerPoint 52~55)
A Text Box (page: PowerPoint 56~57)
A Chart (page: PowerPoint 58~59)
A Table (page: PowerPoint 62~63).
The number of presentation should be more than 5.
Above items must be included in your presentation file. TAs will check it all of them are done.

 Add the logo of your department on all slide modifying masters (PowerPoint 74)
11. Add Animation functions to your presentation. (PowerPoint 80~83)

 Object Animation (sliding in, fade in/out, …)
12. Create Template file (PowerPoint 88~89), and save as MyTemplate.potx
13. Discuss how to present your slides. All members have to present it for the equal time.
14. Do your presentation in front of your classmates.
15. Evaluation a presentation (PowerPoint 86~87)

Give a grade (A,B,C,D, or F) to other team’s presentation and submit it to TA
