The Makings of a Great Leader Created as part of the 2008 Women Unlimited LEAD Program – Orlando Presented by Group #1: • Karen Fair, Bridgestone/Firestone • Erica Reidy, Disney Destinations – Walt Disney World ® Resort • Anna Walker, Tupperware Brands Executive Summary ALL Project – Group #1 • Strong leadership is at the foundation of any Company’s success and is especially critical during challenging economic times. We developed The Makings of a Great Leader ALL Project to provide a set of tools aimed at generating a dialogue on this topic. • Through participating in the Women Unlimited LEAD Program, our team has had the opportunity to develop our own leadership style and our key learnings and insights are reflected in the content. We also wanted to provide audience members the opportunity to consider their own leadership traits, skills and abilities and recognize their strengths and areas of opportunity. • The medium we selected to stimulate this dialogue is video. In addition to the video, we also created a leadership setup guide which provides leaders with key message points on how to introduce the video to their teams and facilitate a thought-provoking discussion after the video. • During January and February, the video will be shown to teams at Firestone Industrial Products, the Walt Disney World® Resort and Tupperware Brands. • Both quantitative and qualitative feedback will be obtained through a web-based survey tool. Initial results indicate that the familiar quotes resonate with audience members and motivated them to consider their own leadership traits, skills and abilities. • The following pages highlight key visuals from the video as well as the leadership discussion guide and survey tool. 2 The Makings of a Great Leader Video ALL Project – Group #1 The video asks audience to consider the makings of a great leader and then highlights 11 key traits, skills and abilities followed by thought-provoking quotes from a variety of world leaders.
