M.A. in Applied Linguistics to Foreign Language Teaching and Learning 2014-15
Course: LANGUAGE TESTING AND ASSESSMENT e-class: http://eclass.uoa.gr/courses/ENL286/
Addressing issues commonly discussed in language testing and assessment, evaluation and measurement, this course aims at:
introducing you to the basic concepts of the field, to how these are implemented
acquainting you with different approaches to evaluation, language testing and assessment, and to their practical value in different contexts
developing your ability to think critically about commonsensical assumptions regarding evaluation, language testing and assessment
providing you with opportunities to plan and carry out individual and collaborative research
training you to use the relevant discourse effectively
It should be noted that each time the M.A. programme is offered, this course focuses closely on one aspect of the testing and assessment area of studies and research. This year, it will cover the basic issues in language testing, but it will also briefly review a few basic issues in evaluation and assessment –mainstream and alternative
