Program: “TRIZ Basics & Using TRIZ in Conjunction with Six Sigma”
This presentation will review the differences between invention and innovation and it will cover the basic
concepts of TRIZ. The concepts of contradiction, Ideality, Ideal Systems, Resources and TRIZ Inventive
Principles will be covered and examples will be provided. The presentation will review how TRIZ can be
used as a front end for Six Sigma to increase the number of innovative and high value Six Sigma projects.
Audience members will receive a TRIZ Inventive Principles Card that can be used as a brainstorming aid..

Directions: From I-81 South, take the RIGHT exit 118B following the signs to Blacksburg. Travel approx.
9 miles to the first traffic light. Go straight through the traffic light to the next exit “Prices Fork”. Take the first RIGHT exit before the
overpass, toward Prices Fork/Downtown. This puts you on Prices Fork Road. Go through the first traffic light (University City Boulevard),
and then take the first LEFT into the Holiday Inn parking lot.
