Anatomy and Physiology Shadowing Project 2013 Shadowing is a valuable experience especially if you can shadow someone in the field that you may want to pursue a career in. You need to contact someone to shadow in the medical field for this project. If you need verification from me, please see me with enough time to get a letter written for you. Shadowing needs to be completed during fourth marking period. Your shadow project consists of: 1. Shadowing a medical professional. Once you have gotten the go ahead from them, you need to give me a name, phone number and date that you will be gone. 2. The morning of the day you will be shadowing, you need to call Mrs. Clarke at 769-0144 ext. 300 to let her know you will not be in school and you are shadowing for Anatomy class. Failure to do this will result in an unexcused absence. 3. A typed 2 page minimum report (double spaced, 12 pt), that includes the following: Name, address, title of the person you shadowed. At least a paragraph giving a description of the day you shadowed At least a paragraph describing your overall impression of the profession you shadowed. At least a paragraph describing the overall benefits and disadvantages of the profession. Complete the following chart: you can ask the person you shadow or consult classified sections, professional search sources in the library a. Education requirements b. Special training required c. Cost for malpractice d. Certification requirements (Continual renewal requirements?) e. Income range- including salaries and top salaries f. Job outlook in five or six years, will there be a demand for this job in the future? g. Do sign on bonuses exist now? h. Include a works cited page. You also need a letter from the person you shadowed on their letterhead stating that you were there and that you shadowed them. Their signature is required to get credit for this project. Included when you turn your project in MUST be a stamped and addressed thank you note to the person you shadowed. This is 10 points of your project. To get these points, I must see the letter and the stamp! DO NOT seal the envelope! Good luck and have fun!! Do not wait until the last minute to locate someone to shadow. If you are having trouble, you need to see me.
